MUNICIPAL BUDGET OFFICE
FUNCTION : General Public Service
The Municipal Budget Office, as provided for in Section 475 of the Local Government Code of 1991, is mandated to provide the delivery of basic services relative to local budget administration including budget processes and policies, directions and priorities governing effective fiscal discipline, proper allocation and mobilization of available resources and effective management of public expenditures.
FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT
-
Prepare forms, orders and circulars embodying instructions on budgeting and appropriation matters for the signature of the Local Chief Executive;

Review and consolidates the budget estimates of the different offices of the city government;

Prepare the Executive and Supplemental Budgets;
-
Assist in the preparation of Annual/Supplemental Barangay Budgets;

Conduct seminars/trainings on local government fiscal administration;

Conduct preliminary review of all barangay annual/supplemental budgets;
-
Assist the Local Chief Executive during budget hearings;
-
Review work and financial plans and requests for allotments, and prepare recommendations;

Control and certifies the existence of appropriations within the released allotments for expendtures;

Evaluate budgetary implications of proposed legislation and submit comments and recommendations thereon;

Coordinate with the local treasurer for purposes of local government budgeting; and
-
Perform other related functions as may be required by competent authority.
OBJECTIVES
To provide technical staff services to the Local Chief Executive and other local officials on budgeting and other related matters.
